Players in Fall Guys must fight their way through a variety of obstacles in order to reach the end of the obstacle course. Many of the obstacles in Fall Guys were inspired by obstacles from the classic Japanese game show Takeshi's Castle.

Types of Obstacles

So far there is a total of almost twenty types of obstacles. Thirteen were introduced in Season 1, and three were introduced in Season 2. Note: Most of following the names for the obstacles are conjectural.

Introduced in Season 1

Spinning Plate

A circular platform that continuously rotates fast making the players fling due to its speed towards the direction of its arrows

Spinning Plate

It is a circular platform that continuously rotates fast making the players fling due to its speed towards the direction of its arrows.

It compares in games Dizzy Heights, Jinxed, Royal Fumble and sometimes in Fall Ball.

Rolling Projectile

Thrown objects

Rolling Projectiles, in this case balls. thrown at the players

An object, usually a ball or a fruit, that is thrown into the game area and is affected by physics making the players pushed.

Rolling Projectile (as fruits) are the main obstacles to overcome in Fruit Chute, but also compare in Dizzy Heights, Slime Climb and Fall Mountain.

Rotating Beam

Rotating beams

Rotating Beams in the preview of The Whirlygig

A cylindrical beam that juts out from a center cylinder and spins around in a circular motion, with the center of its path being the cylinder it juts out from. Rotating Beams compare in The Whirlygig, with them being the main obstacles of the game.

Swinging Hammer

A hammer

A Swinging Hammer in Tail Tag

A Swinging Hammer is a hammer that swings in a certain matter to make a player lose his balance. This obstacle appears in Tail Tag, Egg Scramble and Slime Climb and may appear in The Whirlygig, Rock 'n' Roll, Fall Ball and Hit Parade

Door

Doors

A row of Doors in Door Dash

As expected, a door is a gateway marking an entrance or exit from one place to another. When players push through it, the door collapses allowing them to continue. There are fake doors in some rounds and those will act as solid walls when players collide with them.

Doors only appear as the main obstacle in Door Dash, where the player has to find breakable ones

Gate

Gate

Gates in Gate Crash

Gates are moving walls, that move up and down, letting the player go through them when they are down. Gates are the main obstacle of Gate Crash.

Pendulum

Pendulums

Pendulums in Hit Parade

A ball hanging in a rope that moves describing an arc. Does not stop or slow down when hitting players. Pendulums compare in Hit Parade and may compare in Dizzy Heights and Fall Ball

Bumper

Bumper 1

Bumper 2
The two types of Bumpers

There are two types of bumpers, both of which have the same general effect: bumping the player away from it.

The first type of bumper is usually triangular in shape, with a balloon-looking lining. Players that touch the sides are bumped back with some force, usually enough to throw off their momentum. They can also be jumped on, in which it will act like a trampoline, propelling players in the same direction with an upward force equal to a jump. The second type is a tall, thin cylinder. It is about as tall as two players, with many rings of the balloon lining. It is too tall to jump onto. It is small, but is commonly used as a moving object as well, which can also hit players harder. Bumpers appear in almost all games.

Beam

Beam

Beams in Slime Climb

A narrow tube that usually appears in groups of three, that requires the player to jump on to another one to proceed. They are narrow and easy to fall off of, so precise steps and jumps are required.

Beams appear in Slime Climb and Hit Parade.

Slime

Slime 1

Slime 2

Game Ending Slime in Slime Climb

There are two types of slime: the floor type and the game-ending type.

The game-ending type is a fluid in multiple courses, usually on the lowest level. Players touching it instantly lose. Most of the time it is static, however it does move in some courses. The floor type is a coating on the ground that makes players lose most of their friction. Changing speed and direction is difficult. It can be used as just a slippery floor with other obstacles to displace movement, or as a slide to gain speed for a jump.

Solid slime appears in Slime Climb, Hit Parade, Team Tail Tag and Gate Crash. Instant kill slime is in Hex-A-Gone, Jump Club, Slime Climb, Block Party and Jump Showdown

Moving Block

A moving block gets in the way of the players by moving, usually going inside and outside from a wall.

Moving blocks appear in Slime Climb.

Conveyer Belt

Conveyer

The big Conveyer Belt of Fruit Chute

A surface that moves the players on it towards the direction of its arrows. Staying in the Conveyer Belt is one of the main challenges in Fruit Chute, but also appears in The Whirlygig, Slime Climb, Team Tail Tag and Hoopsie Daisy.

Big Yeetus

Big Yeetus has two different looks

A spinning hammer that sits upright and swings at players at extremely fast speeds in a circled manner. It can appear randomly during Season 1 matches in random locations. Its existence was first “leaked” via the official Fall Guys Twitter account on September 2nd and was eventually released on September 15th as a major update titled “BIG YEETUS AND ANTI-CHEETUS”. Its name is likely a reference to the "Big Chungus" internet meme.

Introduced in Season 2

Thicc Bonkus

Thicc

Thicc Bonkus

A large pendulum spiked log that swings side to side, pushing everything in its path. It was introduced to the community (who came up with the name) during the development of Season 2. Despite sharing a similar naming style with Big Yeetus, its purpose isn't the same and so far only appears in Knight Fever.

Swinging Axes

Swinging Axes

Swinging Axes in Knight Fever

Swinging axes are, as the name suggests, swinging axes that can block the player or knock them away. These axes appear in Knight Fever and Egg Siege.
